DAY 1 Arrive Santiago

Today your representative will be waiting to collect you at Santiago airport to transport you to your hotels as soon as possible so you can settle in and get prepared for your discovery of Santiago. Overnight

DAY 2 Explore Santiago

Today you will explore the main streets of historic Santiago, passing the Palacio de la Moneda (Government Palace,) the main Plaza de Armas and Metropolitan Cathedral. Continue to the scenic Parque Forestal and through the bohemian area of Bellavista before heading to the top of San Cristobal Hill for a view of the overall city. (3 hours)

DAY 3 Santiago on your terms

Today you will choose from a excursions to nearby wine country and historic vineyard Cousino Macul, OR head out to the nearby port town of Valparaiso for a tour replicating the local seaside lifestyle, OR travel to Isla Negra for a literary journey into the life of Chile’s most famous poet Pablo Neruda OR delve into Chile’s political history and bohemian traditions. DAY 4 Journey to Atacama

Early this morning you will be collected from your hotel and taken to the airport. Fly to Calama (included) where you will be met by your lodge representative for your journey towards the intriguing Atacama desert. Your lodge within the Atacama desert has been selected because of its location and the range of possibilities they offer in terms of excursions. After settling in, you will be briefed and taken through the area and the kinds of tours you can make the most of for the following days.

DAY 5 Explore Atacama on your terms

Choose how you will explore this region through the range of excursion options within and around this incredible desert. Choose from walking and hiking tours, vehicle excursions to scenic points, visits to salt pans, mysterious lagoons and geysers and even mountain biking and horse riding excursions. DAY 6 Discover Atacama

Continue discovering this desolate but beautiful desert region. Some excursions that venture further out require you to acclimatise to this high altitude area so today would be a good day to attempt these activities.

DAY 7 Enjoy Atacama

Today is your final full day to explore to immerse yourself in this desert wonderland. If you have been active for the last couple of days, today you could choose a relaxation or spa service at your lodge and simply take everything in. (*Spa may be reduced but is additional to your program.)

DAY 8 Journey to and finish in Santiago

Bid farewell to this unique and wonderful place and return to Calama. Fly back to Santiago. Tour Ends.
