DAY 2 Explore Lima Your first exploration of Lima will be led by your exclusive guide who will drive and walk you through the distinctly colonial and modern areas of the Peruvian Capital. The city is a great introduction to the local culture and you will visit... An added benefit will be to discover the sacred pyramid of Huacca Puclanna. Relax and enjoy the evening at your chosen hotel.
DAY 3 Lima on your terms Today you can choose how to further explore the lively Peruvian capital from a range of excursions. Choices include absorbing yourself in the past by exploring the mysterious ruins of Pachamachac – the great Inca warrior and the accompanying archaeology museum, you taste and master the secrets of the gastronomic capital of South America in a cooking class, peruse through the extensive collection gold, silver and pottery collections at the Larco museum and enjoy lunch or dinner at its renowned restaurant or take in the spectacle of Peruvian equestrian tradition with Paso horse display. DAY 4 Journey to the Amazon You will be collected for your morning flight to Puerto Maldonado, the gateway to the Southern Peruvian Amazon. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your lodge by motorised canoe the Tambopata Reserve. Start wandering through the trails systems of the lodge that will be your base to discover this region for the next few nights. Enjoy a twilight river excursion before dinner and resting for the next two big days of exploring.
DAY 5 Cruise through the Northern Pervuian Amazon Immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of the rainforest with an inclusive program at your ecolodge which includes excursions led by naturalist guides such jungle hikes and trails, boat trips or night walks and visits to nearby villages.

DAY 9 Journey to the Sacred Valley This morning you will fly to Lima for your flight to Cuzco (included) before your guide drives you to the scenic Sacred Valley region where you will stay the night in order for you to acclimatise better to the high altitude. DAY 10 Sacred Valley on your terms Choose how you explore this picturesque area: discover the Inca fortress of Ollantaytambo as well as the ruins and neighbouring town of Pisac with its famous market, OR head out to the impressive the salt pans of Moray, the ruins of Maras and stop at the authentic Andean village of Chincheros ( market visits possible on Sundays) OR you can horseride to Ollantaytambo for different perspective of these ruins OR interact with a local Quechua community and learn the about traditional Andean weaving techniques as part of the Awamaki social project.
DAY 11 Journey to Machu Picchu Early this morning you will head to the station to board your train, where for the next hour and a half, the train will meander its way through the mountains and switchbacks before reaching Aguas Calientes, the town below Machu Picchu. After a short bus trip up the iconic mountain, you will enter the gates of this incredible relic of the mysterious Inca civilisation.
Your guide will take you through some of the features and explain why the Incas where considered so advanced by looking at the concepts and theories behind their advanced building, irrigation and farming system. You can choose to continue exploring the site from the many platforms and vantage points at your leisure. Afterwards, board the bus back to town to settle into your hotel.
DAY 12 Journey to Cuzco Today is free to relax at Aguas Calientes before your afternoon train return to Cuzco. Please tell us if you would like to visit the ruins today or if you would like to attempt the Huayna Picchu Climb so we can add this to your request. (Please note that these must be booked in advance as there are limited spaces, particularly the climb which is capped at 400 people daily.) Read more.
After a combined 3 hour train and bus trip, you will arrive into the Inca capital of Cuzco, where remnants of this great civilisation are everywhere. Overnight at your selected hotel.
DAY 13 Cuzco on your terms The Inca capital of Cuzco is a highlight in its own right. With buildings everywhere made of specially cut stone, cobblestone streets and alleyways infused with grand plazas and colonial architecture, the city is truly unique.
As a freedom day you get to choose how best to discover this cultural jewel.... DAY 10 Sacred Valley on your terms Choose how you explore this picturesque area: discover the Inca fortress of Ollantaytambo as well as the ruins and neighbouring town of Pisac with its famous market, OR head out to the impressive the salt pans of Moray, the ruins of Maras and stop at the authentic Andean village of Chincheros ( market visits possible on Sundays) OR you can horseride to Ollantaytambo for different perspective of these ruins OR interact with a local Quechua community and learn the about traditional Andean weaving techniques as part of the Awamaki social project.
DAY 11 Journey to Machu Picchu Early this morning you will head to the station to board your train, where for the next hour and a half, the train will meander its way through the mountains and switchbacks before reaching Aguas Calientes, the town below Machu Picchu. After a short bus trip up the iconic mountain, you will enter the gates of this incredible relic of the mysterious Inca civilisation.
Your guide will take you through some of the features and explain why the Incas where considered so advanced by looking at the concepts and theories behind their advanced building, irrigation and farming system. You can choose to continue exploring the site from the many platforms and vantage points at your leisure. Afterwards, board the bus back to town to settle into your hotel.
DAY 12 Journey to Cuzco Today is free to relax at Aguas Calientes before your afternoon train return to Cuzco. Please tell us if you would like to visit the ruins today or if you would like to attempt the Huayna Picchu Climb so we can add this to your request. After a combined 3 hour train and bus trip, you will arrive into the Inca capital of Cuzco, where remnants of this great civilisation are everywhere. Overnight at your selected hotel.

Today is free to relax at Aguas Calientes before your afternoon train return to Cuzco. Please tell us if you would like to visit the ruins today or if you would like to attempt the Huayna Picchu Climb so we can add this to your request. DAY 13 Cuzco on your terms The Inca capital of Cuzco is a highlight in its own right. With buildings everywhere made of specially cut stone, cobblestone streets and alleyways infused with grand plazas and colonial architecture, the city is truly unique.
As a freedom day you get to choose how best to discover this cultural jewel....
