For the adventurer in all of us, this trip is a fantastic combination of three of Ecuador’s fascinating regions to suit curious travellers. Starting in the colonial capital Quito, continuing on an intimate river cruise to explore the Amazon Basin and finishing with a cruise exploration of Galapagos.

DAY 1 Arrive Quito

A representative will be waiting to greet you on arrival into Quito airport and promptly take you to settle in to your chosen hotel, ready for the next day’s exploring.

DAY 2 Journey to the Amazon

This morning you will be collected and taken to the airport for your flight to Coca, the gateway of the Amazon. You will travel by road and motorised canoe to reach your vessel, the Manatee Explorer which will be your home for the next four nights as you navigate the rivers and tributaries of the Amazon basin and explore the extremely bio-diverse Yasuni National Park.

DAY 3 Explore the Amazon

The Manatee explorer was purpose built for cruising these waters in a comfortable and engaging format. All cabins feature large exterior windows, a private bathroom and air-conditioning and the vessel has social and relaxing areas on their sun deck, including bar, lounge and outdoor dining terrace.

DAY 4 Discover the Amazon

You will explore the heart of the Ecuadorian Amazon, through the Napo river and the Yasuni National Park with a variety of excursions included as part of a set program.

DAY 5 Continue onboard the M/V Manatee for your Amazon Journey

Highlights of your Amazon experience include forest hikes, canoe led excursions to learn about the different species of flora and fauna, a visit to the local community to learn of their way of life and their medicinal traditions and also the opportunity to see the jungle in all its glory from above a hundred foot high observation tower.

DAY 6 Journey to Quito

Your final day begins with your last breakfast in this deeply, rewarding place before you are transferred back to Coca airport for your flight back to Quito. On arrival you will be picked up and transferred to a hotel near the airport.

DAY 7 Explore Quito

The capital of Ecuador is considered the largest colonial town of the Americas and declared a UNESCO World Heritage site. Today you can immerse yourself in the eclectic architecture, varied colonial facades and adorned balconies on many of churches and private residences in the historic part of the city (sometimes referred to as ‘the old town.’)

Highlights of the walking tour include the gothic Basilica of the Heart of Jesús, the so called street of the seven crosses with its many churches, the Jesuit temple and ‘La Compania de Jesus’ and its baroque display, and the Plaza of San Francisco temple and convent.

DAY 8 Quito on your terms

Choose how you will discover Quito and its surrounds from our various available activities. Stay in town and delve into the city’s historic art scene and be treated to local music and dance folkloric performance, catch a glimpse of indigenous Andean life with a trip to Otavalo Market and the Magdalena Karanki community, put your archaeology hats on as you travel to the ruins of Tulipe and the Pahuma Orchid reserve or, simply head to Papallacta for a retreat amongst the hot springs.

DAY 9 Journey to Galapagos

This morning you will be collected in time to transfer you for your flight to the mysterious Galapagos Islands (Flight and entrances included.) On arrival into the airport, you will be transferred and board your cruise that will serve as your base to explore for the next few days.

DAY 10 Explore the Galapagos Islands

Cruise through the various sites and islands within this volcanic archipelago, admiring the abundant wildlife, desolate scenery and the impact this area has had on modern science through the legacy of Charles Darwin.

DAY 11 Discover the Galapagos

Your cruise will include activities, landings and guided walks to the various visitor spots led by trained and experienced guides as well as meals and use of selected facilities onboard. Islands visited will depend on the itinerary of the selected cruise.

DAY 12 Continue oboard the M/Y Seaman Journey through the Galapagos

Highlights of your Galapagos Journey include visits on San Cristobal and the Interpretation Centre, Espanola and Floreana Islands and the famous Charles Darwin Research Centre with the giant Galapagos turtles.

DAY 13 Journey to Quito

Your cruise will finish with a final excursion this morning before you are transported back to the airport for your flight to the mainland. Tour ends.
